Getting an appliance repaired in Chellaston

Our engineers repair appliances across Chellaston and nearby Swarkestone, from the old village streets to the new homes on its western side. Both are in DE73, the district that also covers Melbourne.

Newer homes usually have fully integrated kitchens, with the fridge freezer in a tall housing behind a matching door. If yours isn’t cooling, check nothing is stopping the door closing against the cabinet, then choose the built-in option when you get your quote so the price allows for working on it in its housing.

Before we arrive

Three things that help the visit.

  1. Find the model number

It’s on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back. A photo of it, and of any error code, helps the engineer bring the right parts.

  2. Tell us how it’s fitted

Freestanding or built in, stacked, in a utility room or garage. Clear the way, but leave the appliance where it is.

  3. Mention access and parking

A permit, a gate code, a shared entrance or stairs. A quick note helps the engineer arrive on time and prepared.

Booking a repair in Chellaston

Do you cover Swarkestone as well as Chellaston?

Yes. Swarkestone is in the DE73 district with Chellaston and Melbourne, and our engineers cover all of it. Put your full postcode into the quote form to confirm your address.

My home is a new build. Should I book a repair?

Check the paperwork first. Appliances supplied with a new home often come with a manufacturer’s warranty, and a repair under warranty is normally arranged through the manufacturer. If the warranty has ended or doesn’t cover the fault, get a quote and choose the built-in option for integrated appliances.

Does the online quote include parts?

No. The quote covers labour: the engineer finding the fault and carrying out the repair. If a part is needed, the engineer tells you which one and what it costs, and waits for your go-ahead before fitting it.

How soon can an engineer come to Chellaston?

Visits are available on the same or next day where the diary allows. Pick a preferred day and a morning or afternoon slot when you book, and the team checks the engineers’ diaries and contacts you to confirm the appointment.

About Chellaston

Chellaston was one of England’s main sources of alabaster in the Middle Ages. Stone from its quarries was carried along the Trent and carved into church effigies and tombs, some of them for royal commissions. The Derby Canal, opened in 1796, later ran through the west of the village, linking the Trent and Mersey Canal with Derby.

Few places in the city have grown so quickly. Chellaston had 205 residents in 1801 and 654 in 1901; by the 2021 census it had 15,768. Around 1,000 homes have been built to the west of the village in recent years, close to the old canal line.
