Repairs in Mickleover

Getting an appliance repaired in Mickleover

From the old village centre to the later estates and the homes on the former Pastures Hospital site, our engineers repair appliances across Mickleover and the rest of the DE3 district.

If the oven fan has become noisy, note whether it grinds, squeals or rattles, and whether the oven still heats. A worn fan motor usually gets louder before it stops, while a fan that turns but no longer heats points to the fan element. A built-in oven often has to come out of its housing for this work, so choose the built-in option for your quote.

Before we arrive

Three things that help the visit.

  1. Find the model number

It’s on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back. A photo of it, and of any error code, helps the engineer bring the right parts.

  2. Tell us how it’s fitted

Freestanding or built in, stacked, in a utility room or garage. Clear the way, but leave the appliance where it is.

  3. Mention access and parking

A permit, a gate code, a shared entrance or stairs. A quick note helps the engineer arrive on time and prepared.

Booking a repair in Mickleover

Do you cover the whole of DE3?

Yes. Our engineers cover the whole DE3 postcode district, Mickleover included. Put your full postcode into the quote form to confirm your address and see the labour price.

Our kitchen has integrated appliances. Can you repair them?

Yes. Choose the built-in option in the quote form so the price allows time to take the appliance out of its housing and refit it. Leave it in place, and mention plinths, tiled floors or tight housings that could get in the way.

Does the online quote include parts?

No. The quote covers labour: the engineer finding the fault and carrying out the repair. If a part is needed, the engineer tells you which one and what it costs, and waits for your go-ahead before fitting it.

How soon can an engineer come to Mickleover?

Visits are available on the same or next day where the diary allows. Pick a preferred day and a morning or afternoon slot when you book, and the team checks the engineers’ diaries and contacts you to confirm the appointment.

About Mickleover

Mickleover’s name shares its roots with neighbouring Littleover: where Littleover was the little settlement on the slope, Mickleover was the larger one. The old village centre is now a conservation area, designated in 1975, and its Old Hall on Orchard Street is a timber-framed house listed at Grade II*.

The village grew beyond its old core in the nineteenth century. The Derby County Asylum opened here in 1851 as the county’s first publicly funded hospital; after closing in 1994 as Pastures Hospital, its buildings were converted into homes. The Great Northern Railway arrived in 1878, and although Mickleover station closed to passengers in 1939, the old trackbed now carries the Great Northern Greenway walking and cycling route west towards Etwall.
