Not draining
A blocked pump filter, a kinked or blocked drain hose, a failed drain pump or a blockage where the hose joins the waste pipe.
Before we arrive: Don’t run another cycle. Leave the water in the drum unless it’s leaking.
Fixed price. Fixed properly.
A local engineer comes to you, finds the fault and repairs your washing machine at home. See the labour price now; any part is priced for your approval before it’s fitted.
Leaks, drainage problems and spin faults can often be repaired in one visit. Our engineers work on integrated and freestanding washing machines from all common brands, whether the machine sits in a kitchen, utility room or outhouse across Derby and the surrounding suburbs.
Pumps, locks, belts, heaters, motors and controls can create overlapping symptoms. Note any error code, stop using a leaking machine and leave removal of integrated appliances to the engineer rather than attempting it yourself.
The visit begins with a careful diagnosis before any work starts. The engineer explains what has failed, why it happened and whether the repair is worth doing, drawing on the faults most often seen on Beko, Indesit, Bosch, Samsung and LG machines in local homes.
Including, but not limited to:
One symptom can have several causes. The engineer tests before recommending a part, so you only pay for what’s actually needed.
A blocked pump filter, a kinked or blocked drain hose, a failed drain pump or a blockage where the hose joins the waste pipe.
Before we arrive: Don’t run another cycle. Leave the water in the drum unless it’s leaking.
An unbalanced load, water that hasn’t drained, a worn drive belt or motor brushes, or a fault in the motor control.
Before we arrive: Try a smaller, evenly spread load once. If it still won’t spin, book the visit.
A split door seal, a loose or perished hose, the pump, the detergent drawer housing or, less often, the tub. Where the water appears is the best clue.
Before we arrive: Switch off at the wall and stop using it. Note where the water collects.
Unusual noises, burning smells, error codes and a door that won’t unlock all tell the engineer something.
Before we arrive: Note any error code and when in the cycle the problem starts. A photo of the display helps.
What it costs
No call-out surprises and no parts fitted on spec. Here’s how we price the repair.
See my labour priceSet by the appliance, its make, how it’s fitted and your postcode. It covers finding the fault and doing the repair.
If a part is needed, the engineer tells you which one and what it costs. Nothing is fitted until you agree.
If the age, condition or total cost means a new washing machine makes more sense, you’ll hear it before any parts are ordered.
Tell us where the machine is and how it is fitted when you book: freestanding or integrated, stacked with a dryer, in a utility room, garage or outbuilding. Mention stairs or tight access too, so the engineer arrives prepared.
The visit includes diagnosis and repair labour. If a model-specific part is needed, its price and the value of proceeding are explained before you approve it.
Where the machine is very old, the drum bearing is worn or parts would cost close to a new unit, the engineer may recommend replacement rather than an uneconomical repair.
On every job
The same standards whichever appliance it is and wherever you live in the area we cover.
Practical know-how across the major brands, used to find the actual fault rather than swap parts until something works.
A fixed labour quote online, then any part explained and priced for your approval before it is fitted.
If the age, condition or total cost means replacement makes more sense, you’ll hear it before you spend anything on parts.
Floors protected, integrated appliances refitted properly and the work area left clean and tidy.
The fixed labour quote is shown online before you book, based on the machine, brand, installation and postcode. Labour covers the diagnosis and the repair visit; any replacement part is quoted separately and fitted only after you approve it.
It depends on the machine and the fault. If the drum bearing has gone or the cost of parts approaches what a new machine costs, our engineer will recommend replacement; for most faults on a reasonably recent machine, repair is the cheaper option.
Yes. Integrated machines behind cabinet doors are common in Derby's fitted kitchens, and removal and refitting are included as part of the fixed labour quote. Tell us about the access when you book so the engineer comes prepared.
Make sure it’s switched on at the wall, the water tap behind it is open and the door is shut firmly. If it won’t drain, a blocked pump filter is a common cause: your manual shows where it is, and it will release water, so have towels ready. If that doesn’t help, note any error code and book the visit.
Yes. Choose washer dryer in the quote form so the labour price reflects the appliance, and tell us whether the fault is with washing, drying or both.
