Repairs in Sinfin

Getting an appliance repaired in Sinfin

Our engineers repair appliances across Sinfin and its neighbours Allenton, Osmaston, Shelton Lock and Stenson Fields, all in the DE24 district it shares with Alvaston.

If a gas cooker won’t light, don’t keep trying. Turn it off, and if you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. Otherwise, tell us whether it’s the hob, the oven or both, and the team will check it’s a job we can take on before booking the visit.

Before we arrive

Three things that help the visit.

  1. Find the model number

It’s on a label inside the door, around the door frame or on the back. A photo of it, and of any error code, helps the engineer bring the right parts.

  2. Tell us how it’s fitted

Freestanding or built in, stacked, in a utility room or garage. Clear the way, but leave the appliance where it is.

  3. Mention access and parking

A permit, a gate code, a shared entrance or stairs. A quick note helps the engineer arrive on time and prepared.

Booking a repair in Sinfin

Do you cover Allenton, Osmaston, Shelton Lock and Stenson Fields?

Yes. They’re all in the DE24 district with Sinfin, and our engineers cover all of it. Your full postcode in the quote form confirms the address and shows the labour price.

I rent my home. Can I book a repair?

If the appliance came with the property, repairs are usually the landlord’s responsibility, so check with your landlord or letting agent first. If the appliance is yours, book in the usual way.

Does the online quote include parts?

No. The quote covers labour: the engineer finding the fault and carrying out the repair. If a part is needed, the engineer tells you which one and what it costs, and waits for your go-ahead before fitting it.

How soon can an engineer come to Sinfin?

Visits are available on the same or next day where the diary allows. Pick a preferred day and a morning or afternoon slot when you book, and the team checks the engineers’ diaries and contacts you to confirm the appointment.

About Sinfin

Sinfin was a separate village until Derby expanded to meet it. Parts came into the borough in 1934 and more in 1968, and the Second World War brought an ordnance depot and factory to the land beside the Birmingham railway. The biggest change came in the 1970s, when Sinfin became the site of a large new housing development that now merges with Stenson Fields.

Rolls-Royce has shaped this side of the city for more than a century. The company’s Nightingale Road works in Osmaston opened in 1908, and in 2007 its main operations moved a little over a mile south to Sinfin, where they remain today.
